Announcements: Got it and Seen

FamiliesCast & crew

Where announcements show up, what Got it means, and how a parent's answer counts for their children.

Announcements are messages from your show's stage managers and directors, or from the organization that runs it. They come as a notification on your phone, and they show up in the app until they end. You can't reply to an announcement. If you have a question, use chat.

Where you'll see them

  • On the web: at the top of your Overview page on on.theCallboard.app.
  • On iPhone and Android: at the top of the Schedule tab.

Each one stays there until it ends. Your stage managers choose when that is, and they can end one early.

Announcements you've already handled fold down to a small line. Click or tap the line to read the message again.

Regular announcements: Seen

A regular announcement shows as a full card until you dismiss it. Click the × to mark it Seen. It folds down to a line with "Seen" beside it.

Urgent announcements: Got it

Urgent announcements are marked Urgent in red. They're for things that matter soon, like a cancelled rehearsal.

  • They get through Focus and Do Not Disturb settings where phones allow.
  • On the web, they stay pinned at the top of every page until you click Got it.
  • Tapping Got it tells your stage managers you know. It's the one thing they're waiting for.

If you've turned on text messages, an urgent announcement might also come as a text. See Your profile, alerts and text messages.

For parents and guardians

When an announcement goes to your child, you get a copy too. It says it was sent to you as a parent or guardian.

  • One copy for your family. If it went to two or more of your children, you get one copy. The notification names all of them, like "(for Lily & Grace)".
  • Your answer counts for them. When you tap Got it, it counts for each of your children it went to. The stage managers see "Got it · by" your name next to each child.
  • Seen counts too. If you've seen it, your children show as seen.
  • Children without their own login. If your child is under 13 and doesn't sign in, you answer for them. Managers see "Waiting on parent" until you do.

Your child can still tap Got it themselves if they have their own login, or a view-only sign-in you set up. See Add your children and manage their access.

Missed one?

Ended announcements come off the home page, but they stay in your Updates, so you can look back at them.
